Help! I forgot my products at your stand!
Oh God no!!
But heavens be praised it’s not a problem. The products will go home with one of the mataki crew members. Since it’s impossible to stay till everybody else has left. Believe it or not, but dealers are also human, who get tired and want to get some rest after a convention.
Still, have no fear, it’s not like we are going to use your products to light our fireplaces. No, not at all. You see, PVC releases toxic gases when burned. So instead of burning your products we store it in a save location and wait till you email us. After the email we’ll sort things out. Because you know what? We at Mataki like fixin’ things! Here are your options in a handy-dandy list:

  • We ship your products back to you. Sadly you are the one responsible for the shipping it’ll cost.
  • Make an appointment with us. Meet up, have a nice dinner, who knows what happens? Ok, nothing will happen. Nothing but you getting your products back. Meet ups will always be done in Utrecht Central Station during weekdays. For the busy bees who really do something like ‘work’ or something stupid like ‘school’. In the weekends you can pick your stuff up at Leiden Central Station. Only in the weekends though. I myself am one of those stupid people with a job.
  • Ask us to bring your products with us to a next convention. This is only recommend for people who left one till ten products. If you left your entire PVC collection at our booth last time, we won’t be able to bring all of it. We try to bring most though.
  • Let us have the products to sell them, or give away. Manga will always go to the Manga Kissa. Other merchandise will be collected and used in giveaways, contests, charity actions, fireplaces, foundation for homes, food and hats.

Please note:
We have a very, very large administration. It may take a few days for us to email you back. It may take even up to a week to ship your products back to you. Then it’s up to PostNL to deliver your products. May the holy spirits be with you.

Can I pay with pin/credit card?
No.

Why?
Because we say so.
and because of the fact that when people pay with pin, it becomes impossible to give money back. Please always pay in cash.

Why did you refuse my products?
Maybe we hold a personal grudge against you? Maybe everybody is out to get you? Or maybe the products weren’t material to sell. Which is the most plausible explanation. We will never sell bootleg. Because selling bootleg is illegal and we are good citizens. Lenses (worn or still in seal) worn out cosplay costumes and horrible taken care of wigs, will be denied at all times. If you want to know if your products are allowed or not, please send us an email. If you could include photos that would be even better. Puppy dog eyes won’t work. So don’t try those.

Can I sell X-rated products?
Yes. Please.
Make sure you hide those nipples and genitals though! We have minors visiting our stand and even people who do not like stuff like this (Can you imagine?) Use a sticker or tape to hide those naughty parts. Also add a sticker with a simple: 18+ on it. Now everybody is satisfied.

I bought this product on Friday, and it doesn't work! Can I have my money back?
If you are still at the convention and the products do not work. Then yes, come back to our stand with the products and we’ll refund your money. Try to keep the label or remember the sellers name. So we can tell that their products don’t work anymore. If you bought the products and regret your purchase. That, we can’t refund. Please think before you buy.

I brought my products , but they aren't sold yet, can I lower my price?
Yes. Always keep in mind that you are selling second hand products. People aren’t that keen on paying as much on secondhand products as they would with sealed products. Yes, it’s true. Do not take measures in own hands either! Always ask somebody behind the Mataki stand (and make sure they are a Mataki crew member first) to change the price on the products and the price on the form. Do not. I repeat. Do not. Change it yourself. Baby animals will cry if you do that.

Do you give discounts?
No, because we are a bunch of capitalists and take baths in money. Like Scrooge McDuck. Also we do not make the prices. It just wouldn’t be fair for us to give discounts.

Can I sell my awesome self-made cosplay prop.
No. We make an exception for official cosplay props, that can be bought from an official licensee. Like a pocket watch or a hair clip.  The reason why we don’t sell home made cosplay props (no matter how awesome) is because we can’t guarantee the safety. If we sell the products we are the one responsible. So if we sell your arrows, and somebody takes them to the knee. We are the one responsible. And we are not sure we can live with ourselves when somebody gets hurts with something bought at our stand. Oh the shame, the shame of a thousand bedwetting children!

So no self-made products? But I made this cosplay costume.. and I wanted to sell.
Well aren’t you lucky? We do make an exception for cosplay costumes. But here is the kicker; we decide at the stand if we accept it or not. If it’s not complete or damaged. We will not sell it. And do not try the “but it’s a damaged version of the costume story That won’t work.
Another reason why we may refuse your costume is because it’s really not a costume at all. Something that can be bought in any ordinary store doesn’t count as cosplay. A T-shirt with an image ironed on, doesn’t count either.
If you bring a cosplay, kindly provided a hanger. Since it doesn’t happen often that a cosplayer parts with their costumes at our booth (brings tears to my eyes) we do not take hangers with us.

Will you have ABC-product available at the next convention?
Your guess is as good as ours! We do not know what people bring, but most of the time it’s awesome. So check the booth every convention. You’re bound to find what you’ll looking for.

I brought my products but they aren’t on your table? How is this possible?
Maybe somebody went and bought them?
The other possibility is that you brought your products later than everybody else. It’s not like we are punishing you or something.. but we work on a first come, first serve basis. The products are safe and sound behind the booth and will be added when we have room for them. Most of the time this is within a few hours and if not that, the first thing next day.

Can I sell my Doflies and related products?
Yes. Yes you may.

Can I sell snacks?
No. The convention offers food already. There are even some other dealers who offer snacks. We will not sell food. It’s just too tempting for us...

We get alot of questions. We love to share, so here are some we get asked alot.
